Activities

Siblings Camp

In addition to all of our great outdoor recreation, each week we host local presenters who join us to share their knowledge and talents with the campers. These activities may include theatre games, yoga, silk painting and cartooning.

For the evenings we plan special all camp events designed to enhance community and friendship. Most days we schedule a Cabin Chat as well, which is a special time set aside to talk and share in a safe, supportive environment. During these chats campers have an opportunity to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences about how cancer affects their lives.

We finish our Siblings Camp with a banquet dinner, slide show of photography — taken by our staff photographer and by campers themselves — and talent show where campers are encouraged to showcase their talents in front of a supportive audience. By the second or third day usually everyone has let loose, but by the talent show everyone’s growth is clearly evident.

I have made so many friends and memories.

Calendar

From the outside looking in summer may seem like our busy season, but Camp Māk-A-Dream works its magic year-round. From special projects in preparation for our major fundraising events to hosting educational workshops at our Gold Creek campus, we stay busy regardless of the temperature outside. It just happens to be summertime that we especially look forward to.
