Volunteer

Camp wouldn’t happen without all our incredible volunteers! There are so many ways to join in the fun!

Help with or host a Fundraising Event

Do you live in/near Montana and want to help? We have several events throughout the year that we need volunteer help with! If you’re interested in helping for a few hours or even a few days, please contact Kim McKearnan, Executive Director, or Courtney Imhoff, Events Coordinator, at 406.859.5987. Check out our Events page to learn more.

Do you want to host an event in your own community to support camp? We want to support you in these efforts, so please contact us in advance of holding any benefit event so that we can answer any questions you might have, provide marketing material and be aware of the details of your event in the case we get calls or questions from people wanting to learn more. Please contact Kim McKearnan, our Executive Director, at 406.549.5987 to discuss your event today.

Volunteer At A Camp Session

***Volunteer applications for the 2023 camp program season open January 3rd, 2023

Spring and Fall Retreats Volunteer Roles

Medical Volunteer: our medical volunteers work with Dr. Stu Kaplan, our Director of Medical Operations, to ensure everyone receives the medical care they need during their stay. The medical staff can be: physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. If you are considering being a medical volunteer at Camp, check out our Medical Volunteer Brochure and contact Stu Kaplan at stu@campdream.org.

Dream Team: Our amazing dream team volunteers work in the kitchen to provide nutritious meals for every Camp session. The dream team will assist the Camp chef with meal preparation, serving and clean up. When they aren’t helping out in the kitchen, they are encouraged to join in the activities happening all around campus.

Program Assistant: Program Assistants help in a variety of different areas around campus depending upon the needs of the session and the skills of the applicants. They may help in the art studio, office or with general program activities. Program assistants with special skills or talents may also be incorporated into the week’s programming.

Presenter: Our adult retreats have several scheduled sessions led by presenters who are interested in providing expertise on a wide variety of subjects – such as yoga, nutrition, or specialized art projects in a workshop setting. Presenters typically come for one session or for several depending on their skill set and topic. Contact us for more information or if you feel you have a special skill or talent you’d like to share with our campers.

I think that the sterile environment of the hospital takes away some of the campers' childhoods ... but here they get to be themselves.

Calendar

From the outside looking in summer may seem like our busy season, but Camp Mak-A-Dream works its magic year-round. From special projects in preparation for our major fundraising events to hosting educational workshops at our Gold Creek campus, we stay busy regardless of the temperature outside. It just happens to be summertime that we especially look forward to.
