Our activities are inclusive and campers are encouraged but not required to participate. Golf carts and wheelchairs are available to ensure that participants can get around campus easily.
In addition to all of our great outdoor recreation, which campers can select what activity they’d like to pursue, each week we host guest speakers to share their professional knowledge and story. The Teen Heads Up Conference places an extra emphasis on activities aimed to help campers understand and cope with cancer.
For the evenings we plan special all camp events designed to enhance community and friendship. Most days we schedule a Cabin Chat as well, which is a special time set aside for campers to talk and share in a safe, supportive environment. During these chats participants have an opportunity to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences about living with cancer.
We finish our week with a banquet dinner, slide show of photography — by our staff photographer and by campers themselves — and talent show where campers are encouraged to showcase their talents in front of a supportive audience. By the second or third day usually everyone has let loose, but by the talent show everyone’s growth is clearly evident.
