Adult Retreats

Adult Retreats include sessions specifically for ovarian cancer survivors as well as another for women with any type of cancer diagnosis. These retreats are unique experiences for women ages 21+ in various stages of cancer therapy or those who have completed treatment.

Women with cancer often balance their own health care needs with their roles as professionals, caregivers, mother, daughters and wives. Our five-day retreats seek to enable you to set aside your daily routines, focus on your own needs and develop a core community of support.

Our retreats include a mix of educational opportunities to go with the recreational ones, full of ample camp fun and some serious conversation to complement it all. Activities like the zip line and climbing wall challenge you and build physical confidence. Breakout sessions on side effects, art therapy, yoga and life planning provide practical knowledge for facing cancer on many fronts. Activities and workshops create camaraderie and an opportunity to focus on yourself, relax and have fun.

More than anything, these retreats are designed to bring women together to create an intimate space for sharing stories, mourning losses and learning from one another. The result is the strength to cope and hope.

Every time I cross the Bridge of Dreams, I feel the tension and pressures of everyday life float away.

From the outside looking in summer may seem like our busy season, but Camp Mak-A-Dream works its magic year-round.
