Activities

Kids Camp

Our activities are inclusive, in that campers are encouraged but not required to participate. Golf carts and wheelchairs are available to ensure that participants can get around campus easily.

In addition to all of our great outdoor recreation, each week we host local presenters who come to share their knowledge and talents with the campers. These activities may include theatre games, yoga, silk painting and cartooning.

For the evenings we plan special all camp events designed to enhance community and friendship. Most days we schedule a Cabin Chat as well, which is a special time set aside for campers to talk and share in a safe, supportive environment. During these chats participants have an opportunity to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences about living with cancer.

We finish our Kids Camp with a banquet dinner, slide show of photography — taken by our staff photographer and by campers themselves — and talent show where campers are encouraged to showcase their talents in front of a supportive audience. By the second or third day usually everyone has let loose, and by the talent show everyone’s growth is clearly evident.

You can do anything you put your mind to.

Calendar

From the outside looking in summer may seem like our busy season, but Camp Māk-A-Dream works its magic year-round. From special projects in preparation for our major fundraising events to hosting educational workshops at our Gold Creek campus, we stay busy regardless of the temperature outside. It just happens to be summertime that we especially look forward to.
